Many of us at UCSF study, in different domains, interactions between the sensory and motor systems of the brain. This is true of my own work (I study speech motor control, especially how auditory feedback is used in speech production) and it is also true for many other fields of study here (the ocular motor system, visuomotor control of arm movements, birdsong, and studies of auditory and somatosensory cortex, just to name a few). Given this, it seems natural that we should have a forum where we could learn from each other.
The Sensorimotor Journal Club aims to tie together the work that’s going
on here at UCSF on interactions between the sensory and motor control systems.
We meet to discuss journal articles, as well as our own work, relating to the
broad theme of sensory-motor interactions.
Presenters: you may choose to present your own work or
a journal article of your own choosing. If you’re not sure what article to
present, you can look
here for a list of possible papers to present.
Schedule:
Below is the
current schedule of the journal club; click on the date to see presentation details
and a link to a pdf of the article presented.
